About the Spa Management Certification Program

The popularity of spas in the U.S. has increased dramatically over the past few years and shows no signs of slowing. According to a recent International Spa Association study, the spa industry generated over $11 billion in revenue in 2003. Each year, more spas are being opened across the country creating new jobs for spa professionals. Salaries for spa directors can exceed $75,000 per year, making spa management a highly-desirable career path.

Arizona State University is one of the first American universities to offer a Spa Management Certification program, which is administered by the Exercise and Wellness Department at ASU's Polytechnic campus. Because the greater Phoenix area has become known as the resort and spa hub of the world, our program is in the unique position to provide students with access to numerous world-class resorts and spas – right in our own back yard.

Coursework in the program combines exercise and wellness aspects with business training and industry input to create a well-rounded educational experience. Although the program is challenging, our graduates will have the knowledge and skills needed to become leaders in the spa industry.

Space is limited in this ground-breaking program. Visit the Admissions Information page for admissions criteria and application deadlines.
